My Blue Hotel

We had a terrible stay, and the experience really spoiled our vacation. We got a negative response to every request, and they wouldn't even let us speak with the manager. There was no Wi-Fi in either room, and the TV didn't work. The maintenance guy couldn't fix it or replace it with one that worked. We received no compensation, even though we ended up in a cheaper room. We'd booked their most expensive option, a Deluxe with ocean view. When we arrived, it looked nothing like the pictures. The room was dirty and small, and the bathroom looked disused, with a peeling ceiling and exposed cables on the balcony. The front desk lady said it was the last room in that category and wouldn't cancel our booking. In the end, we were downgraded to a cheaper room that looked a bit better.

The restaurant service let the place down for us. The first day, it wasn't very good, though I know the pace by the beach can be relaxed. On day two I found a waiter who was responsive and did a great job. The hotel itself is wonderful and in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it's easily one of the best in Jericoacoara. I'd give the hotel five stars on its own.

We came around 3 PM for drinks and maybe a snack, but it took 15 minutes just to get an empty table cleaned. After waiting for the waiter to take our order, my wife went to the bar and ordered two drinks and an appetizer. Another 30 minutes went by before the waiter came over. She told him she'd already ordered, but he said there was no order. The drinks finally came 10 minutes later. The squid we'd asked for 40 minutes earlier arrived just as I was ready to leave, and it was so salty we couldn't eat it. The restaurant is right on the beach in Jeri and looks like an upscale spot with a nice view. Instead, I experienced the worst service I've had in Brazil. What a disappointment.

The place is in one of the best locations in Jericoacoara, but the hotel is a mess. The infrastructure is run-down, and the maintenance staff walk around without seeming to improve anything. The pools were dirty, with iguana droppings constantly floating in them. Customer service was the worst I've experienced. The staff seemed grossly incompetent and completely confused. We checked into a sandy room with a dead cockroach, and it was supposedly one of the best available rooms.
