The garden and staff were nice, but the chalet was in such poor shape that I left early. I stayed in December 2016, and the website photos did not reflect the actual condition of the Pousada do Serrote. For the very high price, the state of the place was unacceptable. The chalet was old and poorly maintained. The ceiling and floor were stained, the switches and sockets were very dirty, and something disgusting covered the TV cable. The door would not open properly unless I hit it with my foot. The kitchen, especially the oven, was filthy, and a shelf was missing a handle. The shower head and its fittings were dirty, the old toilet seat was stained, and there was a hole in the bathroom door. The chalet was very dark, with water stains by the bedroom window. I had to clean the outdoor table myself before using it, and the bench, hammock, and towels were all old and dirty. After I complained, the landlord Natalia did not apologize or offer any refund. Maybe this condition would have been acceptable at a very low price, but it was nowhere near that. Anyone thinking of staying should know what the chalet is really like.

The property is full of greenery, which keeps the days and nights cooler, like natural air conditioning. It's one of the last places in this area with so many trees, and friendly calangos, or pet lizards, live among them. The simple apartments are very practical, with a kitchen, air conditioning, and bathroom. It's also close to rua do Forró and the town center, right across from Quintal do Samba and Serra mar, two nightlife spots up on the hill with an amazing sea view. This was my second time in Jeri, and my first at Pousada do Serrote, but there'll be many more. I came away with lovely memories and want to add to them on future visits. If you get the chance to meet Fabão, the owner, strike up a conversation. After 30 years in Jeri, he's got plenty of stories, and we shared lots of laughs. He speaks French, Spanish, Italian, English, and Portuguese, and has traveled the world, so he has an incredible life experience. A big shout-out to Fabão, Débora, Marcelão, and the whole wonderful, welcoming, super friendly team.

The staff were the highlight for me. Pablo, who welcomes guests, is fantastic and makes you feel at home, always checking that you have what you need. The location is great too, close to the beach and town center. Both pools, small and large, are fabulous, and the cabins are comfortable with everything you need. They do feel a bit dated and well used, though, and the air conditioning is pretty noisy.

A cozy place surrounded by nature, with two pools and a little playground for children. The spacious chalets have a small veranda with a sofa, hammock, and table, plus a stove and sink if you want to make coffee or a snack. It's a great place to rest after outings in Jericoacoara. The location is near the center, on rua da catedral de Pedra, behind the church, about 30 meters away.

My wife, our friends, and I felt very welcome at Pousada Serrote. The rooms are spacious, with rustic decor, and surrounded by greenery, so it felt like being in the middle of nature. Breakfast was generous, with fruit, juices, coffee, bolo de macaxeira (the best I've ever had), eggs, tapioca, cuscuz, and cheese. The pousada is close to both the beach and the town's main streets. I walked to pedra furada. I'd suggest taking the upper route there and returning along the beach, checking the tide table first and going that way as the tide is falling. I'll strongly recommend Pousada Serrote to my family, friends, and our blog readers.
