The rooms were clean and tidy, and reception staff were very helpful. We had a really good stay and will come back next year.

The receptionist was welcoming, and despite everything I managed to sleep well, probably because I was worn out from the day. But this was the worst stay I’ve ever had. We arrived at 3:30 pm and the rooms still weren’t ready. When we finally got one, it was so tiny I could barely move around. The shower had no warm water, the minibar froze everything instead of cooling it, the bathroom smelled of cockroaches, and we could hear the neighbors constantly. Breakfast had very few options, and they didn’t put everything out at once, maybe because they were worried it would run out. The reception was empty most of the time, so getting help with a problem would have been difficult.

My worst travel experience ever. Receptionist Lucas tried everything he could to make things better, but he didn’t have enough resources. The air conditioning wouldn’t cool the room, the minibar and TV didn’t work, there were cockroaches in the rooms, and we were missing sheets and towels. We saw other guests complaining about that too. The shower wouldn’t heat up, then suddenly started working while I was in it, before exploding and causing a short circuit throughout the pousada. I called the owner to try to find a solution, and she hung up on me more than once. If I could take stars away from this rating, I would. Do NOT stay here.

The reception staff were polite and attentive. Our room was tiny but comfortable, and the air conditioning was already on when we arrived, so it was nice and cool for two tired travelers. Breakfast was tasty, and we ate plenty from the buffet and asked for more when it ran out. We didn’t get sheets, but luckily we’d brought our own. We didn’t ask reception for any since we had them, though someone without their own sheets would have a rough time. The TV didn’t work either, but we were only there one night and didn’t mind; it would be a problem for a longer stay. The town center is about a 10-minute walk away. Some people call that tiring, but I think it’s a good way to see the area. Also, the wooden bed is pretty noisy, so there’s that. None of this spoiled our trip. After our west coast outing, we could still shower after checkout for 10 reais per person, which was great since we came back covered in sand, even in our eyes.
