Pousada Flambaião

It’s right on the sand, and Diego, the owner, and the rest of the team were excellent and attentive. The only downside was having to remove a tree frog from the bathroom once a day. That came with being so close to nature, though, and I wouldn’t call it a real problem. I’d come back a thousand times.

We really did feel like we were in paradise. The water at Lagoa do Paraíso was incredibly clean and, in early September, pleasantly warm for swimming. There’s a lovely setup with a deck over the lagoon, tables, chairs, and loungers, plus swings and hammocks in the water. Lots of trees provide welcome shade. The man who welcomed us was excellent, attentive, kind, and very helpful.

I loved this place, it’s simply beautiful. Diego, the owner, was wonderful, warm, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The housekeeping service was great, and breakfast had lots of variety. I’m grateful for the stay and highly recommend it.

This is a quiet, intimate place for enjoying the lake. The pousada has only about 6-8 rooms, each in its own little house, with plants climbing the walls. It’s easy to reach by car, and there are no real dining options at the pousada itself. A great Italian restaurant is a two-minute walk away, with several beach bars along the lake about five minutes away. The crystal-clear water at Lagoa do Paraiso is the main attraction, along with the friendly owner. Breakfast was excellent. My room was a little small and could use more space for clothes, but it had air conditioning, which was great. It’s also a good base for buggy tours, though we found those a bit too touristy.
