Pousada das Aguas

The location is excellent, close to the center, and you can safely walk to lots of places. Breakfast is simple, but everything tasted good and the dining area is cute. The room is spacious, with a huge TV, air conditioning, and a private balcony. I understood that it gets cleaned daily, but the bed is worn out (photo attached), and there’s a musty smell, even though they use disinfectant to cover it. The sheets and towels are also worn out. The bathroom shower stall is tiny, and there’s a lot of mold on the ceiling (photo attached), which makes the room smell bad.

This was a great find. The place feels welcoming and is very comfortable. Even with renovations going on, there was no mess, dirt, or noise. Our room was comfortable, and the bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast is simple but really tasty. I’m very grateful for how warmly my family and I were received.

The place is good, and my short stay was calm. It’s under renovation, but that was fine. The breakfast space was clean and organized, even though there weren’t many options. I did have an issue with the service. When my family arrived, a very friendly woman and man helped us. The next morning, as my husband and I went down for breakfast behind another couple, a woman, who I first thought worked in the kitchen, approached us without even saying good morning and abruptly asked, “Which room? Are you leaving today?” I let it go, but later I needed to ask her something and got a really rude reply. I felt extremely awkward.

The rooms are basic but comfortable, with clean bedding and fresh-smelling towels. The bathroom shower gets nice and hot, which is always a plus. The reception staff are polite and attentive, and there’s parking on site or very nearby. This is a simple pousada with a great breakfast, good value, and an excellent location right in the city center. Renovations are underway, but they didn’t disrupt our stay. A solid, clean, well-located place if you want to keep costs down.
