Pousada BarbacoaR

A terrible experience. The mattresses were old and hard. We had to take off the sheets and bedspreads and sleep directly on the mattress because they were making us itch. The room was full of mold, the internet wouldn't load anything, and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. To top it off, breakfast was awful. We paid 300,00 for a triple room. I don't recommend it to anyone.

The room was spacious and clean, but it wasn’t practical and left a lot to be desired. This pousada was disappointing, and the service was poor.

The location was wonderful, and the place itself is beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay. The service was great, the rooms were a solid 10, and it was worth every cent.

After everything that happened, the owner called a locksmith at the end of the day, had the lock fixed, and spoke with me in person. He apologized, and I accepted. Still, if they want the pousada to remain a point of reference for hospitality, they should hire staff who are better trained. My leisure trip turned into a nightmare. In the morning, I told reception that my room door would lock from the inside but not from the outside. I left the key with the staff, who said they would fix it. They didn’t. By the afternoon, the lock wouldn’t work from inside either, leaving me vulnerable to anyone walking in and stealing my belongings. When I went to reception, Mr. Erasmo said I had broken it and should pay the locksmith 80 reais. I refused, asked to cancel, and called the police. Only after I called 190 did Mr. Erasmo offer me another room, much smaller than the one I had booked. There were other problems too. Check-in was from noon, but we arrived close to 2 p.m. and the rooms weren’t ready. My aunt paid the same as I did but got a better, more spacious room. The owner, or anyone representing him, was unavailable to deal with even small problems. The Wi-Fi was very poor.
