The breakfast setup seems like a good way to cut down on waste, though I would've liked a little more egg. You can also sit at the tables outside your room instead of eating inside. The place is a long way from the center, so keep that in mind when booking. I was unsure after reading some reviews, but they seem to have acted on the feedback. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean, and the sheets and towels smell fresh. I'd recommend it.

Avoid this place. It wasn't clean, and there was no hot water. During my 10-day trip in Brazil, this was the only bad experience.

The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful. The pousada was clean and had a pool.
