Hotel Brisa Tropical de Macae

The location is its biggest advantage, and both the cleaning and room service are very good. The standard apartment shower was just okay, less than I expected. Breakfast could improve, but it’s good enough, and the menu changes from time to time. The gym is nice and works well.

The front desk staff were really friendly, which was a plus. But the room floor was so dirty that just walking on it left black marks on the bathroom mat. I told the cleaner, but she didn’t check the floor or apologize, just said its color made it look dirty. After I explained again, she gave it one quick mop and called it clean. There were several hairs on the bathroom floor too. Even after she’d mopped, I wiped the floor myself, and the mat still looked like it does in the photo.

The hotel itself is a strong 3 stars by international standards. For the area, though, the friendly staff and great breakfast bring it up to 4. It’s a nice place right on the beach, with direct access to it.

I stayed for five days at this very good hotel facing the beach. The staff were friendly, and there’s a decent restaurant. The gym equipment is limited, with just one treadmill, for example, and the sauna wasn’t working.
