Golden Tulip Macaé

The bathrooms are tiny, there's no evening atmosphere or bar, and the evening food was so bad I went out to eat every night. Yes, I agree it's for workers, but the place is a total dump. I won't return, and I'm glad to be leaving. I've stayed at a Golden Tulip before, and it was much better than this. I'd give this a negative rating if I could. The hotel is outdated and the service is shocking. It feels like there's hardly any staff, they're unhelpful, and they speak very little English. The room layout is bad, with two single beds shoved together. The TV is tiny, and I had to keep chasing people for everything. Nobody seems to care. Breakfast was terrible, with very little food. One morning I had to go find staff to refill the coffee, and another guest did the same. The menu is very limited, and nobody comes around to ask if you need anything.

It's especially convenient for business, including oil and gas conferences, since it's near the major oil companies in Macaé. The staff and service are excellent. It's better suited to offshore oil workers than tourists, so I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday.

The garage is a hassle for anyone with a big car. Both the parking spaces and the garage itself are very small. My room was very clean, and the hotel crew were always ready to help. Great service.

There's nothing around here, no restaurants or bars. The place feels like an old house, and even the entrance door is broken. The room itself would be okay.
