Edifício New Time - Apto 1405

Apartment 709 had potential, but the lack of privacy and nonstop pipe noise made it a bad stay. We could hear conversations and smell things from the neighboring apartment through a connecting gap, and there was even a view through it. It was about 2 cm wide, though the photo doesn’t show it very clearly. For accommodation of this category, that’s completely unacceptable. The pipes made noise all day and night, and it was very hard to rest. The ocean view, one of the main attractions, was spoiled by dirty windows. The kitchen utensils were low quality, the sheets were too small for the queen bed, and basic things like a trash bag and even minimal cleaning supplies were missing. There was nowhere to put toiletries in the shower. We never got a reply or any solution from the host. They asked us to pre-check in, but when we arrived they made us leave and come back at 3 PM, then wait 30 minutes because other people were ahead of us. We had a baby with us. They should have taken our information when we arrived and given us the key at 3 PM. We had an excellent experience in apartment 510 last year, but this stay was completely different. We wouldn’t return or recommend it.

The building and apartments are fantastic, but one reception issue means I can’t recommend it. There’s no luggage storage, so I lost my plans for my last day in the city because I had nowhere to leave my bags.

The room was missing a comforter, and the sheets kept slipping off. Even turning on the electricity was awkward: you had to go in, shut the door, and stay in the dark for it to work. The place looks modern and nice, with an ocean view and a good location, but service was very poor. They try to run things by hotel rules without giving the level of help or solutions you’d expect. The reception staff couldn’t help with anything and kept sending us to the host. Overall, comfort and service fell short.

So clean and nicely organized, and it smelled lovely! The rooftop background music was really relaxing and at a comfortable volume. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back.
