Maceio Atlantic Suites

The hotel feels very old, and many areas aren't well cared for. Around 9:30, the breakfast staff start taking away the labels and plates, making it feel like they want us to leave. It's uncomfortable to stay there after that. The safe costs $3 to use, which seems absurd given what we paid. The soaps were disgusting and left my body and hair feeling stripped of their good qualities. There was no body lotion. The towels were rough and dry, so having a shower here didn't feel pleasant. The snooker table was unusable because there were no cues, and the room had neither anything in the fridge nor a coffee machine.

The hotel is safe and well located, just across the street from the beach. The rooms are beautiful, and the quality is good for the price. Food was good, too, and the service was great. There are plenty of services, including car rentals and a tourism agency, plus a gym and tennis court. I highly recommend it.

The staff were super friendly, and the air conditioning worked great. We were disappointed to be told that oceanfront rooms are only for couples, so families don't get those views. The beach directly in front of the hotel has somewhat rough waves, so you'll need to walk a short distance to Pajucara beach. You can rent chairs and an umbrella there and buy food and drinks, so you don't need to bring your own. This could have been a five-star stay if the beach in front had been more suitable for beachgoers.

The hotel was always clean, and breakfast included regional dishes alongside the usual options. Service was excellent, with polite staff ready to help in any situation. People across the city were welcoming, too. Compared with other beaches in Brazil, there were hardly any street vendors offering souvenirs in this area, and it seemed very safe to me.
