I thought carefully before posting this because I know the host may not welcome it, but I wanted to share details I'd have found essential before booking. It's a pretty, charming old property in the Serra da Cantareira, something like a country house. I stayed in the suite, whose decor wasn't really to my taste. More seriously, the bathroom sink was completely loose and urgently needed fixing. There was no room service. Even for a weekend stay, I think staff should at least check whether guests need anything and do a little bathroom cleaning. The shared bathroom wasn't cleaned or maintained at all during our stay, despite every room being occupied and the inn being full. That's particularly concerning given the lodging price. The food was decent, and the Neapolitan-style pizzas were a pleasant surprise, with good ingredients. I missed having a protein option at the other meals, which were just okay, as was breakfast. Some areas, especially around the property, looked neglected and in need of attention. There isn't much to do nearby. I found the stay okay, but for this cost I've had much more interesting places that offered better hospitality and comfort. It has plenty of potential, but needs more care with the details.

The forest walk was lovely, with a little waterfall and a lake, and we even spotted monkeys. The dogs Godô and Maya were great hosts too, making everything feel sweeter and lighter. They really are part of the experience. We stayed at Chalé Bianco, which was beautiful, comfortable, spotless, and full of charm. It has a wonderful energy that's hard to explain until you're there. The food was incredible, with carefully selected natural ingredients, all included: starter, main, and dessert. Every course was more surprising than the last, and we came home spoiled for other meals. Marcelo's welcome and knowledge were just as impressive. You can feel how much he loves what he's built, and it made the whole stay unlike anything else. We really want to come back, and think everyone should get to experience it.

The food was impeccable, with every meal delicious and made with care using fresh, excellent ingredients. Chef Marcelo and the staff were so attentive. Godô and Maya are adorable, and made the place feel lighter and happier. We had a wonderful stay in the pleasant old house. Suite 3 was charming and cozy. We really want to come back soon!

The food was the high point of the whole stay. When my fiancé said meals were included, I pictured a hotel buffet. Instead, each meal felt like dining at a starred restaurant, with fine dishes served as starter, main course, and dessert. Someone briefly explained the story behind each dish or ingredient, all in an intimate setting with such personal service that I felt like a queen. We stayed at Villagio Bianco. The chalet is pretty and cozy, and stays pleasantly cool during the day thanks to its walls. There are plenty of places to sit, including chairs, benches, and loungers, with lots of tree shade. At night, the lighting is good too.

We booked a day use at chalé Rosa. It's rustic, pretty, comfortable, and cozy. Marcelo's cooking was the highlight: fresh-made pasta cooked perfectly al dente, served as three courses with dessert and coffee or tea. As someone mentioned in the reviews, it could deserve a Michelin star. Marcelo has worked in kitchens in Europe and buys and sells fine food products. He carefully picks both imported and local ingredients, and sharing the stories behind the dishes is part of the fun. The meal stands up well against the good restaurants in Jardins and Vila Madalena.
