Hotel Talissa 2

My son is allergic to soy and milk, and we were in Manaus for his allergy tests. On our second day at the hotel, I asked whether they could fry eggs in olive oil. They said yes, and I'd forgotten our oil at home. I thought the oil was for hotel guests, so on three of our four days I asked them to fry one egg for him at breakfast. On the last day, a woman from the pantry approached me and said they couldn't use the oil anymore because it was private and belonged to the hotel owner. I felt really embarrassed and ashamed that I'd used it for those three days without being told. If they'd explained that on the first day, I would have bought oil and used that instead.

Breakfast only starts after 6:30 local time. It feels like the hotel sets it that late so guests who leave without eating don't get their breakfast, saving the company money.

The room smelled strongly of mildew, and the minibar was dirty and stank. The blankets smelled bad too, and there was no bath towel until we asked for one. They should check the room's condition before handing it over. We slept terribly because of the strong smell.

A very good hotel, with a garage, room service even on Sundays, and dinner during the week.
