Chalés de Peroba

I’m asking for the R$ 850,50 penalty to be removed and all the money paid to be refunded. The stay didn’t match what was offered and had basic safety and hygiene problems. We’re afraid of animals, so staying there wasn’t possible. I booked on 05/01 at 22h for 06 to 09 January, with check-in set for 14h on 06/01. At 12h that day, the person responsible for the pousada contacted me to say there had been a problem with the room, explaining that the ceiling had fallen and check-in couldn’t happen at the agreed time. They even suggested canceling. Later, they said the problem would be fixed, but we’d have to arrive later to give them time to prepare the room. We agreed and said we’d arrive around 20h, as requested. When we got there, the place was very different from the listing photos and wasn’t in Brooklin as described. There was no wall or signage, and we didn’t feel even minimally safe. A lizard was in the bathroom sink when we entered. The toilet was loose, the window had no protective screen, and the bathroom bin was broken. The person in charge said frogs and other insects commonly appear and that doors and windows should always be kept shut. We asked to cancel and were then charged the penalty. The initial problem was caused by the pousada, the service didn’t match what was offered, and we requested cancellation within 24 hours of booking. In my view, this was a service failure. I’m waiting for a fair, final solution under the Código de Defesa do Consumidor.

We came with the family in November of 2025 and felt at home right away. The owner, dona Sandra, welcomed us warmly, with her lively, no-nonsense manner. The place is lovely and just across the street from the beach. The rooms were clean, and the pousada and chalets were well organized. The pool was great too. We had an excellent stay and hope to come back soon.

Dona Sandra gave us the warmest welcome I’ve ever had. The room was clean, and the pool was wonderful, big and heated. Even though it’s on the main road in peroba, the place feels peaceful and family friendly. Breakfast was really complete.

I went to celebrate my birthday with my husband, and it turned into a nightmare. There wasn’t anyone at reception when we left either. The cleaning woman took the key and said, “I’ll give it to her. Thanks, have a good trip.” The bathroom was filthy when we arrived, with urine in the shower corners and wet footprints on the floor. There wasn’t even soap. At breakfast the next day, the buffet was mostly empty. An employee said the guests had eaten a lot. There was no fresh fruit or juice left, and my husband and I had to share the last French roll. Reception only seems to be open when they feel like it. When we arrived, an older woman gave us the key without much information. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. We’d hoped for a nice time together, but the whole experience was awful.
