Grand Oca Maragogi Resort - All inclusive

The beaches nearby are stunning, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. If it weren't for the beach, I'd give the place zero. We ended up leaving early for another hotel, even though we lost money, and when we told the staff, nobody asked why. Check-in at the front desk was slow, and we still had to fill in our own details. We'd booked a premium room, said to be one of the best, but it was in the middle of construction, with dust, paint smell, and a view of the site, as shown in the photos. We accepted the cost of downgrading to a standard beachfront room just to get away from it. That room had damp patches on the walls, blood stains on the ceiling, dirty curtains, a broken toilet, a TV that barely worked, only very hot shower water, and a broken safe, also shown in the photos. Food quality was low and it seemed to be made in bulk without care. Only one themed restaurant had decent meals. The grounds were often dirty, with trash left on the floor most of the day, and several pools were regularly dirty too. Staff didn't take much initiative with problems. The kids' pool had no water running, and I had to track someone down to get it turned on after the first employee I asked just shrugged. The beach in front of the hotel is small, with limited space for swimming and lots of boats. Trash on the sand could sit there all day. Fortunately, about a 10-minute walk in either direction took us to truly beautiful beaches.
