Hostel Caribe Maragogi

Great!

For a simple stay, this is a good choice, but there are a few things that need attention. The location is excellent, and although the town’s infrastructure isn’t great, everything is nearby. The beaches are beautiful, the room was very good, the beds comfortable, security very good, and the staff helpful. The place also suggests tours and other outings that cost less than the ones booked through websites, so it’s worth arranging them there. The internet was awful. It kept dropping, and even when it connected, it felt like there was no connection. The TV only had IPTV, so if you want to watch the news like I do, forget it. My bathroom had no window, and there was a pigeon nest in the ceiling. Whenever I came back in, I had to shoo the pigeons out of the bathroom or clean up their droppings. It was terrible. They made noise all day, and it was hard to sleep at night with them overhead. Breakfast was good, but the room was terribly cramped for the number of guests. If there wasn’t a seat, you had to wait for someone to leave. When I came down around 8:30, there was hardly anything left: the coffee was nearly gone, the juice was almost finished, and most items were running out, so I had to ask the staff for more. I also found a few cups with marks from other people’s mouths, which could be improved. It would be a nice extra if the hotel had a kitchen that prepared meals or snacks.

We chose Pousada Caribe Brasileiro because it was pet friendly, but our stay didn’t meet expectations and fell short in several ways. The welcome at check-in wasn’t warm. The blankets in our room had a strange smell, as if they’d already been used. They did replace them when we asked, but it made us uncomfortable. The room had poor sound insulation, and we could clearly hear people walking by outside. We were in a room opposite the stairs, so there was even more noise, and our pet got quite scared by the constant movement. The TV wasn’t connected to the internet. We asked a staff member to fix it, but they didn’t solve the problem. There weren’t many breakfast choices. One day a sweet bread tasted sour, and the next day the food seemed to be the same as the day before, just presented differently. The inn has potential, but it needs to improve the service, cleaning, breakfast quality, and noise insulation in the rooms.

I spent four days at Caribe Brasileiro and can’t wait to return. The place felt very secure, and I made friends with one of the guys who worked there, though I’ve forgotten his name. He has a motorcycle and was very kind and helpful to us. It was an excellent inn, and those were the four best days of my life. I also had the first breakfast fit for a king of my life.
