Pousada Lá na Praia Maragogi

I found Lá na Praia Maragogi through the app after a frustrating booking elsewhere. I’d paid by Pix for a stay at Hércules Beach Paradise, about 10 km from Maragogi’s center, but when I arrived at 7 pm, they kept me waiting half an hour and then said I’d owe another 120 reais per pet, per night. I thought that was unfair, so I looked for another place. I’m very happy the app led me here. From the welcome to the room, the place felt warm and helpful. It was clean, the suite was lovely and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. There’s paved parking, a kitchen guests can use, a pool, and a barbecue area. It’s pet friendly with no pet fee, safe, spacious, and quiet. The air conditioning was excellent too. Great value, and I’ll come back. Congratulations to the whole team.

The location is great, close to the beach and other businesses, and both the breakfast and service were impeccable. The room itself was a different story. Apart from having two single beds and one double, the facilities felt run down. The shower didn’t provide hot water, even though it had a hot setting, and the air conditioner was so loud it could be heard in the next room. There’s no sound insulation between rooms, which is a problem if you want privacy.

The breakfast was simple, but the women who made it were careful and everything tasted good. The rest of the stay was a letdown, and the place clearly needs more attention to maintenance. When we arrived, I was put in a windowless room that smelled of mold. My parents’ room had mold all over the wall and an unbearable smell. I asked reception to move us. They were going to move me right away, but not my parents. Their room was only changed after we mentioned a problem with the toilet flush. In my downstairs room, the shower was awful, patched with tape, and there was a note on the wall saying not to turn it hotter because it could burn out. Just a few thin streams came out. We’d already had so much stress that I didn’t raise it again, especially since the receptionist said the place was full and they couldn’t keep changing rooms. The pool was so dirty we didn’t even feel like getting in. I was disappointed because I’d found the inn on Instagram, but it wasn’t really like what they post there.

The location is just average, and the service was basically nonexistent. The common areas were badly kept, while the rooms were very poor quality, with no windows and damp bathrooms. There wasn’t even enough room to hang a towel. I haven’t stayed in such a bad pousada in a long time.
