The location is good, and the air conditioning was the one thing that really worked well. The complex itself has potential, but it needs better management and more care for guest comfort. The beds were awful, and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. After our first night, we complained about the very thin foam mattresses. They sent another one just like it and laid it on top. That stopped us feeling the bed slats, but we sank into a hollow instead. It left our backs in bad shape, and even my 11-year-old granddaughter woke up with back pain.

The house was clean, but maintenance was seriously lacking. People who weren’t staying in the complex came and went freely. The restaurant wasn’t open, and there weren’t enough chairs or tables for guests around the pool. The entrance was chaotic, with no one at the gate at certain times, so there was no real control over people or cars coming through. We also got stuck waiting on either side for someone to come open it.

The service was good, and the house had all the basics, though it was simple. It’s a decent place to stay, with a nice pool and access to the seafront. The water had a horrible amount of iron in it. It made cooking, bathing, and brushing our teeth unpleasant, and we had to buy bottled water to drink.

Direct beach access, the pool, and the apartment’s balcony terrace were the best parts. At the last minute, we were given a much lower category apartment than the one we’d booked. We had to show photos from our reservation to prove which apartment we’d reserved, and we weren’t allowed to move into it until noon the next day. They wouldn’t accept dollars, so we had to go into Maragogi to exchange them for reais, while they repeatedly demanded payment. We asked for a receipt, but after repeated complaints they only gave us one on our last day. It wasn’t an official receipt, just a Word document. An apartment building was being constructed on the property, with constant noise. People coming from the beach and looking at the apartments under construction kept passing through to the main entrance, which made the place feel unsafe. The poolside table area was dirty, and the restaurant was closed. It’s a shame there was so little empathy, commitment, or attention to guests.
