Uri Pousada

I found the Uri inn clean, quiet and lovely, with everything seeming very new. My room was cozy and attractive, and the bathroom was spacious and very clean. Breakfast offered lots of tasty choices, and the clean, pretty pool was a relaxing spot. It was well worth the money, and I'd choose Uri inn again.

The receptionists treated me very well and were professional, so my one-star rating isn't about them. My complaint is about the manager, Murillo. After more than 20 hours of travel, I wanted a one-hour massage in the comfort and air conditioning of the room I'd paid for. Since the hotel has no spa, I hired a professional masseuse locally. People familiar with the area know that many masseuses work outside on the beaches. I explained why I wanted the room, but Murillo refused to let her in, saying it was for the safety of hotel guests, including me. He showed no interest in my situation or what I needed. I had spent over 4000 reais at this place alone, and have the receipts. When I said I could cancel and spend my money elsewhere, he just told me to do that. I found his customer service very poor and his conduct unfit for a manager or leader. I won't return or recommend the place, even though I know many people who might travel on my recommendation. I stayed because my vacation was already planned around it, and I didn't want one manager to ruin the whole trip. I feel for the receptionists, who tried hard to give me good service despite reporting to him. This review is not about the overall service. Breakfast also disappointed me: there were few choices, and the bread was stale each morning, crumbling as soon as I cut it. That suggests it wasn't freshly baked that morning. Good luck to anyone staying while Murillo is in charge.

We had spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, a lovely pool and a great breakfast during a wonderful stay. One thing felt inconvenient: guests have to wear a paper wristband for identification. I hope they might change that in the future.

A beautiful place, with really polite and helpful staff. We had a fantastic stay at Uri pousada, and I'd highly recommend it.
