Pousada Vilas di Espanha

This was our second year in a row staying at the inn. Rita always looked after us and cared about our well-being. Delaila served breakfast each day and was attentive, too. Rita also answered all our questions about events in town and was always helpful. We love the location. There's a chocolate shop, bakery, soap factory, and emergency clinic on the same avenue, and the inn is easy to find. At breakfast around 8:30, you can watch sanhaços hopping around the primavera plant. We also saw canaries and other birds during our stay in December. Last time we had the economy double room, with a comfortable, nicely sized bed, good pillows, and warm bedding. My husband is tall and was always comfortable in the beds. This time we stayed in the chalet with a hot tub, which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and the tub was great. We loved the breakfast. My husband especially likes the pamonha, and there was fruit, bread, yogurt, juice, scrambled eggs, cheese, and more.

It's a very quiet place, great for resting even though it's close to the city center. I really liked the complete breakfast, and they made scrambled eggs for me on the spot. The chalet was comfortable, with hot water at the bathroom sink and a really good shower. I enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back if I get the chance.

The mattresses in the suites are old and misshapen, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. The bathrooms also don't have a hand-held bidet spray. Getting to the parking area is difficult because the ramp is in poor condition, and reception is only open when you arrive. If those issues were fixed, I think the stay would offer reasonable value.

We had a warm welcome, a spacious bed, an excellent breakfast, parking, and a cozy suite. The location is a little far from the center, but that's no issue if you're driving. I recommend it and plan to return!
