Refugio Physis Suites

The room and service were wonderful. The view from the window was lovely, and the woman looking after the place was careful and thorough with both cleaning and guest service. There’s a small shared kitchen below the rooms, and they can suggest places that deliver. Our only suggestion is to improve the parking ramp, since a car can sometimes skid where the lower section meets the ramp. We had a really good stay and highly recommend it.

I can’t recommend this inn. I paid and booked on 03/04/204 for 10/04 to 12/04. My wife and I rode our motorcycle from Mogi Das Cruzes toward Monte Verde, a trip of about 210km. When I stopped for lunch in Extrema, I finally checked my phone and saw a message from Marcelo, the owner, saying they couldn’t host us because of an unexpected problem. Stefany, the attendant, explained that they’d been having issues since Monday, but they waited until Wednesday, when we were already on the road and only 60km away, to tell me. Getting that news at the last minute left us in a really uncomfortable and upsetting situation. We’d set out for a getaway and ended up stressed. We had to find another inn and pay an extra 430 reais. I suggested that, given all the trouble, they should at least refund us and cover the difference for the new place. They did return what we’d paid, but that was all. Stefany’s service was especially poor, and they showed no empathy for the customer. Luckily, I had enough credit available on my card to book elsewhere, since even after a refund the bank doesn’t release the money immediately. Photos show what the place looked like when it was supposed to “receive” us. If you want to avoid a headache, don’t stay here.

I loved it. The chalet was just right, spotlessly clean and cozy, with a perfect view. Having breakfast brought to the room was wonderful. I’ll definitely return.

Refúgio Physis helped make our first wedding anniversary really special, and I’m grateful for that. The hydro tub came with a breathtaking view, breakfast was delicious, and the fireplace kept us warm on those cold mountain nights. There’s no room service, but wine, glasses, champagne, snacks, water, and other things were available in the small fridge in the suite. We loved the experience and are sure to stay here again.
