Good.

I booked nine nights in a shared hostel room that had very good reviews, but the listing was misleading. The place wasn’t fit to stay in, and I couldn’t make it through even the second night. My rhinitis, panic disorder, and anxiety flared up. The room was filthy, and the pillows and sheets smelled strongly of cat urine. There was a bathroom window looking onto the courtyard, with no privacy, and noise went on all night because it was next to the common area. The room lighting was poor, the construction was shoddy, and the toilet had no lid and was almost under the bathroom sink. The shower was cold, and the air conditioner and windows were in terrible condition. The room was nothing like the photos. For all those reasons, we checked out before the second night began. And, unbelievably, they wouldn’t let me sign anything. I made another Booking reservation in the same area for that very day. The owner of BLUE hostel said she couldn’t refund me directly because I’d booked through Booking. Booking wouldn’t let me cancel the night or refund it. A customer shouldn’t be left paying for a bad arrangement between Booking and a property. I’m a regular customer and really disappointed by the lack of commitment to customers. Don’t stay there. No discount is worth your physical and mental health. This isn’t a hostel, it’s an open sewer.

The outside gate became part of the problem too: we were never given its key, so we felt trapped inside. The shared areas were filthy and neglected, and the room itself was a mess, with a dirty bathroom and beds made up with stained, torn sheets. It looked nothing like the Booking listing. She had moved someone out of the room we had reserved and put us in there instead. The worst part was how the arrival was handled. I had told the owner in Booking chat that our flight meant we would arrive in the early hours, and she said she would let us in. A few hours before we got there, she changed that and told us to wait until 6 a.m. By then the seven-day period for backing out of an online purchase had passed, so she refused to cancel or refund. She knew I no longer had that right, and I feel she acted in bad faith. She even said the only way to enter before the agreed time was to call the police. I did, and she let us in. We only agreed to go inside because my 100-year-old grandfather urgently needed a bathroom. He has prostate problems, and we also needed somewhere to work out what to do. We had no idea the place would be this awful. This place should be reported urgently. Stay away.
