Pousada Águas Claras

A lovely spot!

The breakfast was served at filthy tables and offered very little choice. There was no juice, and the cheese bread was hard. The inn shows pictures of nice rooms, but they put us in a tiny one, with the sink outside the bathroom beside the bed. Its window faced the street, which is on a hill where motorcycles, trucks, and buses pass. The price was about the same as many better inns. We left feeling misled and went to Umbauba instead, which was much better. A terrible place to stay.

We liked the value for money in the standard suite, especially given how close the place is to central Macacos. Restaurants and other spots are less than a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was nicely prepared, and there are trees all around, plus a pool. For a bit more privacy, I’d pick the last room, whose window faces the back.

The menu choices are good and reasonably priced, and you can have your food in the restaurant or in your room. The team is very attentive and happy to help. The place has a rustic feel, like a country home, and the facilities are great. Everything was clean and well organized. A great inn!
