Hotel do Santuário

It's a nice-looking place, but my experience was frustrating. I asked whether I could book one more night and the attendant said yes. The next day, another attendant told me there was no availability. They tried to rearrange things, but the prices had gone up. It seems like the administration could be better organized.

The price was good, and the setting and view were lovely, but the stay fell short on some basic things. The room was spacious, with a balcony and a beautiful view of the churches and nature. The curtains were covered in mold and black on the side facing the wall. For anyone with rhinitis or sinusitis, that's a real hazard. They need cleaning now and then. There was a small bar of soap in the bathroom, the kind hotels provide, but it didn't belong to the room. Shampoo and liquid soap were mounted on the wall, so it looked like someone had used the bar and housekeeping hadn't removed it. Breakfast was awful. The coffee tasted horrible, came from a thermos, and went cold quickly. There were no omelets, just little meat pastries and cheese bread as the only savory and protein options. An omelet is the bare minimum for breakfast.

It's an older hotel, but a pretty nice one. The rooms are simple but do the job, and the staff are attentive. It's up on a hill, where the weather feels quite mild.

The location was great, with a lovely view of the sanctuary, and the rooms were comfortable. Everyone on staff gave perfect service. Breakfast was on the basic side, but very good.
