This is an okay hotel, and the location is handy. It's near the city's main avenue, and since the city is really small, you'll find pretty much anything you need close by. The rooms are small, and other guests can get noisy in the hallway, especially if you're on the first floor. The Wi-Fi isn't very good either. It's a small hotel, so keep your expectations modest.

The one person who really made a difference was the woman in the kitchen, the one with glasses whose name I don't know. She was lovely to us throughout, and Dolce Dulce gave us the best service and facilities of the whole trip. The hotel breakfast tasted good, though the next day's fruit was past its best and probably left over from the day before. Still, we managed to eat. Getting basic information was a struggle. There was nobody at the hotel when we arrived, so I couldn't check in or find out how to use Dolce Dulce. The woman helping at reception was quite hostile and handed us the vouchers. We had arrived early, so that part was okay. After our visit to the park, there was still no service, which I can understand since it was New Year's Eve. But nobody ever told us how to use the hotel access code, when breakfast was, or how things like room cleaning worked. We had to ask about everything, which felt uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially with the curt replies. A printed sheet with the information would have been enough. The Airbnb listing said parking was free but didn't say a reservation was needed, so our car had to stay on the street. We were lucky that Olímpia is safe and well policed, and that the car was insured, but it was still unsettling. We had to ask for room service and used our cooler bag as a makeshift trash bin because the bathroom bin was tiny. The cleaner put the bag outside the door and asked if she could throw everything away. We said yes, except for the cooler bag. She replied arrogantly that it was a good thing we'd told her, or everything would have gone in the trash. She also didn't change the bedding. We hadn't been told the cleaning hours, so that wasn't our fault. The air conditioner was dirty, which is a serious problem for someone with sinusitis. The room was also much smaller than the Airbnb photos suggested. Ana/Junior messaged me to say the photos hadn't been altered. They may not have been altered, but they still didn't match reality. I've paid less at hotels in tourist towns and gotten much more. We treated everyone respectfully, yet we were made to feel as though they were doing us a favor by hosting us. On top of that, two cockroaches appeared at the hotel on different days, which was really disgusting. On a future trip, we'd choose the park hotel instead.

The people were courteous and tried to be helpful, and breakfast was adequate. For a simple family-run hotel in high season, the price was close to fair, but even a basic place needs to pay attention to quality. The room was very small, the bathroom door had no lock, and when we asked for pillows at 11 p.m., they couldn't provide any. The reception was empty at some times of day, which made checking in and out difficult. The building itself is basic, with several rough patches of wall filler showing. Maintenance needs to be completed to make the place more comfortable, and simple supplies like blankets and pillows should be better organized.

I loved my stay and would happily come back. It was good value, close to downtown and the main avenues, with plenty of things to do nearby. The rooms were super comfortable, the air conditioning cooled really well, and the minibar was great too. The information was clear, unlike some comments I'd read, and everyone treated me wonderfully. Breakfast was amazing, and the kitchen staff were very attentive. Great job, everyone.

I brought my dog, and they welcomed him warmly. Every staff member was helpful, the breakfast was really tasty, and the breakfast hours worked well for us. The hotel is close to everything. I recommend it!
