It was very quiet, and for Ouro Preto, having parking at all is a real plus. Still, the parking area was awkward to maneuver in, especially for anything larger than a small car. The bathroom layout was poor too: the shower enclosure takes up most of the room, leaving only about 21 cm between the sink and its entrance. Someone with obesity might not fit through. One bathroom outlet didn't work, and there was only one working outlet in the whole room. The place is very rustic and basic. The low price does help make up for that, since the room had a private bathroom and parking. Breakfast was simple: two kinds of fruit, one kind of bread, cheese, ham, coffee, milk, and soursop juice, plus granola, oats, and chocolate drink. On the second day each guest was offered two cheese breads. The Booking photos don't match what we found. The room really smelled of mold. I have an autoimmune disease, and it left me coughing, sneezing, congested, and needing extra doses of corticosteroids. The TV didn't work either. There was no fan in the room. The man who greeted us asked me to go get one from the inn's “headquarters,” but I didn't. If a fan is advertised, it should be in the room. I give Brazilian entrepreneurs a lot of credit, and the inn seems to be run by two elderly people, but these issues need mentioning. I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances for older people with mobility problems or people with disabilities. For young folks who like an adventure, maybe.

Maurício at reception was so kind and helpful. On our second day, he even bought jujubes for my daughter to have with breakfast. The inn is about a 500 m walk from Praça Tiradentes, and there is parking. Breakfast was really good. It's a simple, cozy place with no luxuries, but it feels like home and puts you close to the city's main square.

The minibar cooled our drinks quickly, and the simple breakfast was enough. Mr. Maurício was also very welcoming. Sadly, the stay fell well short of what I expected. The room needed more cleaning: there were cobwebs on the ceiling, the sheet didn't cover the whole bed, and one pillowcase smelled unpleasant. One towel had a bad smell too, and the curtains and bathroom rug weren't clean. I hope the owners take these suggestions on board and improve things.

The breakfast was simple but tasty, and the place has potential. Still, some details need attention. The shower wouldn't heat up, which is a problem in a cold city like Ouro Preto, and the mold smell is especially unpleasant for people with allergies. The garden could use some care, and the TV didn't work. I hope they take the criticism in the spirit it's meant.

Breakfast was plentiful every day, with lots of choices, including wonderful cheese bread made by the owner. I went to Ouro Preto with my boyfriend, and we loved how calm and homey the inn felt. The only thing that bothered us a little was some mold in our room, but it hardly affected our stay. I do wish they offered lunch, even if that meant raising the room price a bit.
