Sinha Olimpia feels like a real Ouro Preto experience, and the stay was worth the walk from the main center. It’s a small hotel, so the staff were especially warm and friendly. Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with Mimas cheese and pastries, and they served afternoon tea every day. Probably one of my best hotel stays.

The pool and sauna were a nice way to spend time, and I got to mingle with other guests. It’s about 2 km / 1.2 miles outside town, but that didn’t bother me. You need good legs in Ouro Preto wherever you stay. The beds were comfortable, with cozy blankets, and the place was so clean I felt cleaner just walking into the room. After a shower I felt renewed. The staff were lovely, polite, and ready to help with whatever we needed. The place was better than advertised, and it’s always nice when expectations are exceeded. Breakfast was decent, with a variety of delicious homemade cookies, biscuits, and more, plus a free afternoon tea treat. This is hands down the best place I’ve stayed on my trips to Minas Gerais.

The room was really comfortable, the food was great, and the shared areas had a lovely feel. They also offer rides around the city and plenty of tips for enjoying Ouro Preto. The service was excellent. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and I’d like to come back more often.
