The apartment was very clean and organized, with lots of space, closets, and an excellent laundry area. The outdoor area and garage need repairs, though, and we missed a few things like small plates, a baking pan, and an extra dish towel. The shower had low water pressure, and we had a complete water outage one day of our stay. The sofa is quite old too.

Because of the steep hills, getting around can be hard, so I'd recommend having a car if you're staying at Solar Douro. The location is nice in that it's away from the bustle of downtown Ouro Preto. A vertical wardrobe in the rooms would also make things much easier.

The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the place was comfortable and very clean. I recommend staying here.

If I could, I'd give it more than five stars. The Solar is in a residential building with other residents. When they made noise in the early hours, the staff made sure to move us to another room. They were very attentive, and both the rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean.

Clean, fresh-smelling, and cozy, with a really good bed. We recommend it as a great place to stay and will come back whenever we can.
