The hosts were a big part of what made Amara feel like home. Tainá and Deivide were polite, friendly, and always ready to help, answering questions and pointing out nearby options for outings and trails. The house is beautiful and cozy, with tidy, clean rooms with en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and clean bathrooms and shared spaces. Outside, there’s a lovely green camping area looking toward the hill, and a campfire there makes for a beautiful view of the starry sky. I’ve traveled to many places, but I’ve never felt as at home as I did here.

Isa was very friendly when she welcomed us and showed us our room, which is why I’m giving two stars. Before we arrived, they confirmed on WhatsApp that our well-behaved pet was welcome and that there was a garage. I also explained that we had a motorhome in a Mercedes Sprinter van, and they said it would be fine. We parked inside and checked because the garage was so small it could fit only our Sprinter or two small cars. They told us we could leave it there. But once night came, they asked us to move it onto the street. We agreed, thinking they might find us another garage, since we didn’t want to cause trouble. The street was so narrow that leaving it there felt unreasonable. In the morning, they had us move it just so a single van could go in, because the parking area is tiny. We had such a bad time that Matías chose to sleep in the motorhome. We were worried it might get hit or stolen, and honestly, we wouldn’t stay there again.

The peace of all that nature, the lovely breakfast, and the rooms prepared with such care made this a special little place. My husband and I were welcomed with open arms by the hosts Deividi and Tainá, and we felt right at home. We’ll be back soon. Already miss it.

There’s a little river running behind this relaxing guesthouse, surrounded by pretty plants and trees. It’s a lovely spot to stay, meet people, enjoy nature, meditate, write, pass the time, or play. We had a wonderful full moon gathering with a little bonfire, which I loved. There are rooms for couples or solo guests, shared rooms, and camping. And if you come when the bananas are in season, yum, you’re in for a treat!

I stayed for a week, and every day I was delighted. The other guests had great energy and really added to how much I enjoyed it. The place is so cozy, and the hosts are thoughtful and incredibly welcoming. I want to return to Vale do Capão soon, and I’ll definitely stay at Amara Hospedaria again.
