Pousada Amanhecer

The physical side of the hotel is lovely: beautiful, well-suited architecture, comfortable spaces, great views, a wonderful pool, and very well-kept gardens. The management seems to look after the property itself very well, but not the guests as much. For the price of the rooms, I expected a few more thoughtful touches. There wasn't even a shower cap in the bathroom, only one hand towel, and the shampoo and conditioner felt like the basic kind you'd find at a place like IBIS, where that suits the hotel. Pool towels weren't kept by the pool either, so you had to go back to your room to get one. Breakfast was weak overall, and especially limited for vegetarians, even though I mentioned that at check-in. There's more I could say, but the main thing missing is someone really looking after the guest.

What made my stay at Pousada Amanhecer special was the team. They really went out of their way to make us feel good, pamper us, and keep us happy. I made a point of getting everyone's names: Laura, Mirley, Ney, Igor, Nilton, Luan, Bruno, Luiza, Marlice, Marcia, Tarcisio, Joel, Jonas, Diego, Junior, Elinete, Kelly and Ana Amélia. You all deserve a standing ovation for the care, dedication, and professionalism you bring. The owners, Dr. André and Dr. Fábio, deserve credit too. Even when they're not around, their leadership and entrepreneurial spirit show in the outstanding team they've built. The place itself is beautiful as well. The suites, bungalows, pool, hot tub, restaurant, and bar all have a very high level of taste and luxury, while still fitting the spirit of the setting. The bed, towels, rooms, and pool were all comfortable, but the people were the real highlight.

The service was the best we had in Chapada Diamantina, especially from Luís and Nei. Ask Luís to make you one of his drinks. Dinner was a lovely surprise too, better than meals at several places in town, and breakfast was all carefully made and delicious. The inn feels new, has spacious rooms and leisure areas, and is very comfortable while still fitting in with nature. A few things could be better, though they didn't get in our way: the Wi-Fi didn't reach the rooms, the 2 km access road was in rough shape and might be annoying in a low car, there were no backed chairs in the rooms, and several menu items for food and drinks were missing ingredients.

Such a lovely, well-kept place to unwind. The service was great, breakfast was very good, and having a hot tub slot after a day on the trails was wonderful. Easily the best inn around Capão!
