Leo's Clan Beach Hostel

We stayed longer because it was convenient, but I wouldn't come back. The upstairs pool is nice and the staff were helpful, yet the place felt poorly run. Both the private room and kitchen were very dirty, and they forgot when we asked for the room to be cleaned. There was no lighter in the kitchen, so we had to ask reception to borrow their personal one each time. The air conditioning worked but was very cold and hard to adjust. There were lots of mosquitoes, plus a cockroach in the bathroom, which smelled awful. The toilet flush was broken; we reported it, but nothing was done.

The aquarium made noise all day, and my phone charger was stolen there. It was dirty and uncomfortable, so even the low price wasn't worth it.

The staff were nice, but the room was horrible. The private room was very dirty, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioner was too dirty to use, and there was even a hole before the bathroom that cockroaches came through into the room. I couldn't get even two hours of sleep.

We came for a stay and ended up extending it by a week because there’s so much to do in and around Paraty. Leo himself is awesome, and all the staff are lovely and helpful. We had a private room at a very reasonable price. Leo knows the area really well, and there are amazing nearby walks to waterfalls and beautiful hikes.
