Pousada Rumo dos Ventos

The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. They were also very accommodating, and the place is close to all the beaches.

It’s a trap. Don’t go. There are better places in Paraty.

The loft setup was the biggest problem during our four-night stay this week. We booked a triple room, but got a double bed downstairs and two beds on a mezzanine with so little headroom that the person sleeping there hit their head several times and had to move around bent over. The bed was also beside what was supposed to be a guardrail, but it didn’t seem safe, and someone or something could easily fall to the floor below. Staff weren’t very present at reception or during breakfast. The common areas are well equipped, though, and some employees were friendly. Room cleaning only happens if you hand in your key by 11 a.m. Parking doesn’t fit all the units, so arriving late may mean parking on the street. The inn left a lot to be desired overall.

Frida, the sweet little cat who wanders around, definitely catches your eye. The inn has a warm, rustic feel, breakfast is generous, and the staff are very courteous. Creuza at reception was especially kind. Since it was my father’s birthday, the hotel gave us a bottle of Salton as a gift. The room cleaning was disappointing, though. Housekeeping left our used glasses dirty, so we had to wash them with soap ourselves.
