Pousada Aldeia Paratii

The location is what you're paying for in Paraty, more than the accommodation itself. Still, this is a lovely place to stay, and we got plenty of use out of the pool. The room was fine for a beach town, but the bed and shower could be better. We found that letting the shower trickle made the water hot. The toilet flush was weak, so don't put tissue down it. The bathroom bin was small and filled quickly, and another bin in the room for general waste would help. Breakfast is included. We tried it once and thought it was decent, but most days we went to a great breakfast place called Manue. The hotel staff were welcoming but spoke little English. That was fine, as we managed with a translation app on our phone. On our last day we had to leave early for an 8 a.m. bus, before reception opened. We left a note, and the hotel reached out to us, which was nice. From the second night, noisy neighbors kept us awake for much of the night. The walls are very thin.

Everyone at the pousada was kind and helpful, with plenty of good tips. The historic city is just a 2-3 minute walk away, and breakfast was delicious. Our mattress in room 12 was a little hard, though the ones in the other rooms weren't. Great experience, and I recommend the place!

A calm place to get some rest and forget the daily routine. The rooms are well organized, and the services, including breakfast, garage parking, and reception, were incredibly efficient. Pousada Aldeia Paratii is well located near the historic city, the public hospital, and lots of restaurants and places to enjoy the evening. It could use better protection from mosquitoes, but it's one of the best places to choose in the city.
