Pousada Sitio Mata Atlantica

We went as a group at the end of the year and found the price very fair for what was offered. It’s a family-oriented place, well suited to anyone wanting to rest and spend time in nature. They were completely clear about what was included, and explained that in a sítio in a natural area, insects and other things typical of that setting are common. They responded to all our requests promptly, with warmth and willingness to help. We understood that rain can make the water in the natural pool cloudier, and the grounds are beautiful.

The waterfall, natural pool, fresh air, and birdsong make this place feel like a little piece of paradise. Everyone was friendly and very helpful, and the nearby beaches are beautiful. We loved it! Since it’s out in nature, you have to expect the weather and other conditions that come with that. They didn’t get in the way of our vacation. When the usual local rains came, we found creative ways to keep having fun. We played hangman and tic-tac-toe like we used to as kids, and my children loved it. So did I. Bring insect repellent, sunscreen, cards, and paper and pen. I recommend it without hesitation!

The room we stayed in was cozy and clean, with a great bathroom and a nice hot shower. Breakfast was fantastic too, fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions. Even the entrance, a bridge into paradise, draws you into nature and a slower, peaceful way of life. It felt like we could forget about the bills for a while. We’ll be back as soon as we can. If you haven’t been, go, it’s worth every bit and more!

We lost our New Year’s holiday here. The photos made the place look like the Garden of Eden, but it was a mess. The pool had to be drained twice because the water was dirty. There were no chairs or loungers, and the grill was so dirty I had to ask for it to be cleaned. We ended up cooking the meat on an improvised barbecue in front of the kitchen, just to salvage the holiday. The kitchen had cockroaches flying around and landing on people’s backs. There were no cooking utensils, though they were all hidden away. Our group had eleven people. The old, filthy fridge was replaced only after a lot of complaints. Rainwater leaked through the ceiling. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Luckily, we were surrounded by great people who were with us.
