The location is perfect, just 10 steps from the historic downtown, with its restaurants, bars, and music. The staff were incredibly helpful. We arrived to two full days of rain and still wanted to get out, and they arranged two great tours for us, both cheaper than booking online. They also suggested bars with good music for a Thursday night. Our room and bathroom were clean, and the AC worked really well. They had water and coffee available whenever we wanted, and breakfast was fantastic, the kind of spread you'd find at a four-star hotel in the US. There were breads, cakes, deli meats, cheese, yogurt, fruit juices, and more, and you could ask the kitchen lady to make an egg. I highly recommend it. There's no need to pay top dollar to visit this beautiful little town. About the complaints over water: we were without it for a couple of hours, but it was restored right away, and I was fine with that. This can happen in Brazil, and it's a countrywide issue rather than the place's fault. People should learn more about the history before criticizing it, too. The art here is absolutely stunning, so get the history right before trashing it.

The staff were very nice, and the decor was interesting and eye-catching. The rooms and bathroom were clean, and breakfast was simple but nice. Wi-Fi only reached the reception and dining area, though, with no connection in the bedrooms.

Inside, the place felt very strange, with awful portraits that seemed proudly colonial. We wondered how anyone could take pride in colonialism and hang pictures of enslaved people on the walls :(((

Dani at reception was really warm and gave us useful tips, and the place is right in central Paraty. The room itself was spacious and clean, and breakfast was good, though very basic. But our toilet broke on Saturday after we arrived Friday night, and nobody fixed it. On the first attempt, the receptionist didn't even ask whether we were okay with the repairman coming in. She asked us to leave the room key since we were going sightseeing and said he was trustworthy, which felt really strange. We refused, then heard from another receptionist that we had supposedly refused the repair. In the end they gave us a key to another room and we had to keep going there just to use the bathroom. The pool was dirty, too. They said the jets came on automatically at 10, but they didn't start until after 13:00. The hallway is made of very thin wood that didn't seem safe.
