Pousada Vila Parnaiba

As an English-speaking tourist who doesn’t speak Portuguese, I found it helpful that Victor could give us recommendations and ideas for things to do in English. The hotel is good and in a great location, but Victor’s help is what made our stay special and earned it five stars.

We only had one night, so there wasn’t enough time to enjoy the pool area. I liked the property a lot, with its rooms arranged around a garden that felt like a forest, a large pool, and a jacuzzi. The neighborhood didn’t look very friendly, though. Our mid-range room was comfortable, with a king-size bed and a twin-over-twin bunk. The bathroom was nice and roomy enough for our toiletries, with a powerful hot shower. When we arrived, they gave us the instructions for following the Covid19 rules. Breakfast was ordered through a phone app, with lots of choices. The staff reminded us to place our selections before bed. In the morning, we sat at a table in the open-air breakfast area, and the food started coming out. Each guest got a sealed round tray with the fruit, bread, cakes, and drinks they’d chosen the night before. The front desk staff helped us book two great tours. First we took a boat through the delta, then, after returning, boarded another boat for a 50 mile trip along the river to see the Revoada dos Guarás. It was amazing. Both activities are a must at the Delta do Parnaíba.

The place is almost hidden from the street. There’s a pleasant garden and breakfast room, though both can be a bit noisy. The room had just the basics, which was enough for me, but felt a little sparse for the standard, with only one small bar of soap in the shower room and an empty fridge. Still, it’s a nice place to stay, and the nice swimming pool is there for you and the kids.

A clean place for an overnight stop while traveling from Jeri to Lençóis. It’s close to the city center, banks, and restaurants.
