Pousada Laranjal Em Pelotas

Wonderful place, with a great welcome and service. I'd recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay and were welcomed so warmly. The room was spotless, clean, and well organized.

My daughter and I stayed five days last week in room Calandra. The owner was lovely and very polite, and we were certainly made to feel welcome. Still, I thought the nightly rate was high for a place without even breakfast. A few things made the stay difficult. The garage gate was in very poor shape and hard to open, especially in the cold when we had less energy. The shower barely gave any water, so washing my hair was a struggle, made worse by the cold. There was no hot water at the bathroom taps, and in the morning it was freezing. There also wasn't a full-length mirror in the room. I asked for still water in the minibar on arrival, but it still hadn't been put there by the time I left, so I went thirsty. There's no room service, just towel changes. We ran out of toilet paper for two days; it was only replaced after I asked. Whenever I went to reception to request it, nobody was there, so I ended up using all my tissues. All that said, the stay was good.

The service was dismissive from the website advertising to the staff's response. The site says a fireplace and individual barbecue are part of the apartments' basic setup, but that isn't true. We chose this pousada because we expected fireplaces in the apartments and knew it would be cold. When we arrived, we found that only some rooms have one. We asked to move to a room with a fireplace and were refused, even though the pousada was empty. The attendant told me to find somewhere else if I wasn't satisfied. I don't recommend this place.
