Pousada Recanto Praia Grande

After driving 830 km, arriving somewhere clean and comfortable where Karina and her husband welcomed me so warmly felt priceless. The suite had air conditioning that cooled really well, and the quiet surroundings made the stay even better. I'll be back the next time I'm on the road. There's a shared kitchen with everything you need, plus an area with a barbecue. Free parking with an electronic gate, too.

Really great guesthouse, folks. The rooms are tidy, organized, and comfortable, and they serve a really tasty breakfast basket. We'll come back again.

The area around Praia Grande and the other beaches to its right is beautiful, but there was a lot of human litter and not enough collection. Many businesses seemed to be taking advantage of visitors. At the guesthouse, we had our extra-large beach towels stolen. They had been custom made by KARSTEN, and the staff seemed to care very little about what this meant for us. They weren't cheap towels from a Chinese app. We ended up having to pay for beach chairs, which felt exploitative at 50 reais for three hours. The rooms and bathrooms had no ventilation, except for an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The bed was unsuitable, the TV was outdated and had no connection, and the air conditioning was hard to operate. There was no control over the barbecue or leisure area. We were literally told to leave because we were playing canasta at the table and disturbing people who had already arrived late at night. I don't recommend it. There are better places for a fairer price, given how we were treated, and nobody followed up on any of it.
