Oly Plaza Hotel

A clean, comfortable hotel. I had a good stay.

Works well for a stay of a few nights.

Out of necessity, I took a room here because of the time and location, and I regretted it badly. I’d asked at reception whether there was a room for one person and was told yes, for $125. I said okay and parked. Once I went in, they said that room was no longer available and the only one left cost $160, with the same double bed. I had to accept. The room was tiny with no ventilation. The air conditioner was so noisy it was impossible to turn on, and the windows faced the neighboring room’s window so closely that even a sneeze sounded like it was in my room. The old spring mattress had sunk in and was awful to sleep on. In the middle of the night, guests were talking loudly and putting on a show with an employee, and nobody seemed to realize people were trying to rest. I needed a place that night, but I’ll never come back.

The website didn’t give proper information about the rooms, especially that some are old. My booking didn’t specify what amenities the room would have. We ended up in the old wing, and it was awful: moldy walls with peeling paint, a broken toilet seat, no air conditioning, no minibar, no hair dryer, and spring beds that were impossible to sleep on. It didn’t have the amenities listed on the site, and none of the photos matched what we booked. It felt like misleading advertising.
