The place is an old house, like many around here. Walking in feels like entering an old museum, with everything looking from the early 1900s. A path at the back leads to a dining area with a bar and pool, then on to the little chalés, which were decent and clean. The pool is small but fine. There’s also a jacuzzi guests can book for just 40 minutes, though it’s very ordinary. Afternoon tea and coffee are very basic. The bathroom in our chalé was tiny and uncomfortable, with a terribly planned layout. The shower head is electric and works, but it isn’t nice, and the water runs very slowly. Breakfast was far below what I expected. The staff weren’t friendly and the service was poor, to say the least. After my first coffee, I asked for another. They poured it into the same mug, and this time it smelled like cockroaches. I’m not kidding. It was disgusting, and I packed up and left, never to return. I’m almost as disappointed by how high the reviews are. Maybe I was just unlucky, or people are lowering their standards. Be warned.

Alexandre welcomed my husband and me kindly and gave us all the information we needed. They also served coffee, tea, and cake as an afternoon welcome snack. The parking is near the room and accessible for wheelchairs. It’s in a convenient spot close to the action in town, but quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. I highly recommend it for couples.

The central location is excellent, and the garden has a nice green area, but I was disappointed. The garden is cluttered with lots of unnecessary add-on structures. My room was dark, with a flimsy curtain, and the bathroom urgently needs renovation. Everything feels old, in the neglected sense, not charmingly historic. I think the pousada has potential, but it needs serious investment. Breakfast was okay. The worst part was the price: far too expensive for what it offers. I wouldn’t stay there again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful pousada. The breakfast was very good, the rooms were comfortable, and everything is close by.
