The breakfast on the hotel rooftop was fantastic, with fresh fruit, cakes and breads, scrambled eggs, a toaster for grilled sandwiches, fresh squeezed juice, and great coffee. The rooftop has a wonderful view of town and the surrounding area, and it’s open during the day too. You can enjoy the breeze there, and the shaded tables are handy for working on a computer. Juliana, the pousada manager, and her staff made our stay feel like a home away from home. They were so hospitable and went out of their way to handle our requests. Tia da Morena sits on a hill in a quiet neighborhood, about a 15-minute walk from Town center. The simple rooms were clean and had windows that let in the cool night air. We visited in late July and slept really well, with comfortable temperatures and birdsong in the morning. Our room was on the first story above ground level and had lovely sunrise views. It also worked well as a base for getting around. We walked to Bonsucsesso, under 12 km round trip, Vagafogo, under 12 km, Usina Velha via the Cora Corolina trail, 14 km, and Moro Froto, under 8 km. We rented mountain bikes from JC bikes to see Santa Maria and Lazaro waterfalls, 27 km. With other hotel guests and friends, we drove together to the waterfalls of Paraiso and Abade.

We loved our stay here. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, making for peaceful nights. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety and everything nicely prepared. The welcome was warm, friendly, and attentive, which really made a difference. Such a lovely experience, we’ll definitely be back.

The room was small but cozy, and the whole pousada was clean and organized. The towels and bedding were fresh and smelled like fabric softener. Juliana and Maykon were wonderful hosts. Juliana was always so kind and attentive, I can’t say enough 🥰. I definitely recommend the place, and we’ll stay there again on our next trips.

The room was simple but cozy, quiet, and very close to the center. My wife and I walked there in about five minutes. From booking by WhatsApp through check-in, the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The mattress, sheets, and whole room were spotlessly clean and smelled fresh. The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend 🥰

Everything was very clean, and the owners really try to make guests happy. It’s simple but cozy, with a bathroom in each room, a fridge at reception where you can store some drinks, and coffee available. I did miss having more ventilation. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was broken in both rooms we got, but the owner brought in a technician and had it fixed. It’s about a 19-minute walk to the center and close to a grocery store and snack bar. The service was excellent.
