Rishon

The website is the only thing I could call good, since it successfully presents something that doesn’t exist. I don’t know which Hotel Rishon the people who rated it excellent stayed at, but my unfortunate stay in Porto Alegre was a perfect way to end a trip badly. When we asked the taxi driver about the hotel and its location, he described it as “in the mouth of the garbage dump” and practically begged us not even to step outside. We only stayed because it was nearly 11 p.m. and we were leaving for the airport at 6 a.m. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. The attendant asked the “housekeeper” to take care of it, and she announced loudly that her shift was over and she couldn’t do it. For a moment, I thought she was the manager. Once that was sorted, we went to the room and found nothing like the “luxury apartment” described in the booking confirmation. It felt more like a roadside motel room. The bathroom was disgusting, and whenever someone flushed in another apartment, our drain overflowed and made a frightening noise. Sleeping that night was really hard. We decided to leave much earlier than planned and didn’t even go downstairs to see what breakfast would be like. If there were a rating below poor or fair, that’s what I’d choose.
