After we couldn't get a room change, we asked to cancel, only to be told cancellation had to go through the booking website. With no resolution, we had to leave and find somewhere else that night, which was exhausting and uncomfortable. We had arrived around 14:40 for a 15:00 check-in on 13/02, completed the reception process, and gone to our room. Right away, there was a strong paint smell, and I told my wife it seemed recently painted. We went out to eat without having had lunch, leaving the window open and air conditioning on to try to clear the odor. Two hours later it was still overpowering, and the small window provided little ventilation. Staying there felt impossible and potentially unsafe for our health. I went to reception to request another room. The receptionist said every room was occupied and that we should have reported the problem on arrival. We disagreed, since the pousada had given us a room with such a strong paint odor. The receptionist seemed unable to resolve anything, and I think it was irresponsible to offer a room in those conditions, where the fumes could even cause poisoning.

We were welcomed so warmly by everyone, and the room had just been cleaned when we arrived, it smelled fresh and was spotless. The breakfast was really good, the location was excellent, and I especially want to thank the lovely woman who cleans and sets up breakfast, though I forgot to ask her name. We had wonderful days there, and I have nothing to complain about, only thanks to everyone. I'd seen so many negative comments that I was nervous, but arriving changed that impression completely. The pousada is under maintenance, but it didn't affect my stay. Some people seem so fussy and focused only on complaints, even when there's breakfast, a pool, and a place by the sea. You won't find another pousada with all these benefits at this price in one of Brazil's most visited tourist spots. Enjoy the good things about this place!

The family room upstairs was great, with a balcony and a sea view. The place itself is beautiful, and the hotel service was very good. I enjoyed the breakfast and kept ordering the really good tapioca. I only felt the room could use a table. I'll definitely come back.

Cleanliness should be the bare minimum, even when you know you haven't booked a five-star hotel, and this place didn't meet it. Bugs covered one wall, the sheets were stained, and the windows were broken. We left as soon as we arrived, even though we'd already paid for everything. When we told them we were leaving, they only said they couldn't refund us, which we hadn't even asked for.

I loved it and will be back. The price was low, and the breakfast was tasty. The room had air conditioning, an electric shower, and a TV with HBO and Netflix. The pool wasn't very big, but it was clean and we had loads of fun in it. The place is beautiful, and the people were welcoming and attentive. Some of the negative reviews made me a little nervous, but the folks who wrote them must be poor in spirit, not money. If you want a five-star hotel with a spa, then pay more. You can't expect all that for this price.
