Pousada Amada Terra

The view from the pool out to the beach is gorgeous, but the beach right in front isn’t suitable for swimming. We had to go to the town center to enjoy the sea, which can be a drawback with a small child. It would also have been nice to have caipirinhas or other drinks by the pool. We stayed last week and found the place clean and well organized. The staff were all very polite and ready to help. Still, I don’t think it’s fully set up for families with young children. There’s no changing table in the main bathroom or kids’ area. The à la carte restaurant serves dishes that come already prepared with strong seasonings and sauces. I asked them to leave those out because the food was for a child, but they said they couldn’t. On our arrival day, the kitchen had already closed by 8:30 p.m. We ordered from other restaurants nearby and found their seasonings quite strong too. Porto de Galinhas is a wonderful place with beautiful beaches, but families with little ones should think through these points before choosing where to stay.

We loved our stay at pousada amada terra. The staff were helpful and polite, especially Raul at reception, who welcomed us and shared lots of tips. The location is good, and getting around by Uber is easy and very affordable. Breakfast was great, but they don’t replenish every item, so if you come later, you may be left with whatever is still there.

We had a really good stay, and we’re grateful for the hospitality. The rooftop pool has a lovely beach view. The food at the restaurant was good too, though we had a small mix-up with the kitchen over an order before it was sorted out. The pousada is about 2 km from the center of Porto de Galinhas, a good location compared with many others nearby, and close to Merepe Beach, which isn’t suitable for swimming. Service was friendly and attentive. We stayed for eight days. Breakfast was good, but the choices were mostly the same each day. It’s served on the rooftop, where the air conditioner can’t quite keep up with the heat, so the space gets very warm. That’s our only suggestion for improvement.
