Pouso do Bichinho 2

This is a simple pousada for resting, recharging, and visiting the shops. It’s close to everything, but not the place to go if you want luxury. Tatiane and Fernanda were wonderfully friendly and dedicated when they welcomed me. They even made a delicious breakfast when I had to leave before the usual time for an outing. I’m glad I stayed.

I brought my dog, and the owner had reserved isolated suite 5 for us. On arrival, there was nobody to welcome us. The bathroom was dirty, everything looked neglected, and we felt completely cut off. There were no other guests or staff around. The minibar was in terrible condition and had just two bottles of water. Nobody cleaned our room. Unless I’d messaged the employee to say we were checking out, we wouldn’t have had breakfast because she didn’t even know we were there. Breakfast was pretty good on the first day and awful on the second. This place had everything it needed to be a great pousada, but it’s been left in an absurd state. The owner apologized and offered to refund 40 reais from our 580 stay. I told her to keep the money.

We traveled from BH for our wedding anniversary with my husband, son, and mother-in-law, but it was a terrible experience. We were told our money would be fully refunded by Lorena, yet only half was returned. Even before we’d decided to leave, she was already asking so she could put another couple in one of our rooms. Our triple room smelled of mold, and they moved us to another room, saying there was a leak. The couple checking in at the same time couldn’t get either the minibar or bathroom light to work. Lorena, the manager, kindly told us there had recently been renovations because there was a POSSUM NEST in the ceiling. This isn’t really a pousada, just a house without a reception or proper pousada facilities. We could only find a hotel in São João Cel Rey. Never again.

I booked a room with a garden view but was put in a room behind the kitchen, facing the laundry area. The room, mattress, and pillows all smelled of mold. The small tube TV only got one channel, and the picture was snowy. The Wi-Fi barely worked. You had to push the shower to close the bathroom window, and the sink leaked whenever I used it. When I tried the microwave, its damaged adapter caused the outlet to catch fire.
