I had a lot of problems over five nights and ended up in three different rooms. There was an electrical failure in my first room, so I had to move, then I had to change rooms again at their request. Melissa, the manager, was friendly, though. The place is affordable if that's what you're looking for, but I wouldn't stay there again before an exam. If the different issues had happened the night before the exam, they would have thrown me off. One day I had to shower with only a trickle of water, and at 4 a.m. another guest rang the bell and knocked on the door for 20 minutes. There's no electric shower and no breakfast. There is a kitchen, but it didn't even have a baking tray for the pão de queijo I bought. I also had to pay an extra 15 reais because nobody is there after 6 p.m.

This has never been a pousada and never will be one, it's a hostel. The bathroom is shared, as you'd expect in a hostel, and towels cost 5 reais. I had to wait outside for 10 minutes when I arrived because there are no staff after 6 p.m. Then they charged me 15 reais for coming in outside their hours. I'd never seen that before. Checking in alongside a cockroach on the counter wasn't a good experience either. The rooms are very noisy. You can hear what's going on in the other rooms, and several roosters spent the whole night crowing and squawking. I felt completely misled by this dump presenting itself as a pousada. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend, maybe not even an enemy. It was the worst accommodation experience of my life.

The power overload stopped all the air conditioners one night, and Senhora Melissa didn't care at all. We were left in unbearable heat. The bathrooms had bad flushes, no electric shower, and no shower screens. The kitchen had no pots, the glasses were awful, the fridge didn't work, the microwave was filthy, the blender was unusable, the sandwich maker was dirty, and the stove was propped up on a brick stone. There's no nearby church, jogging track, mall, or pool either. When we arrived during Carnaval, three construction workers were in the middle of building work, with cement, lime, and paint everywhere. It was a complete mess. My baby got sick from all the dust, then my mother and brother got sick too. The room was so dusty we couldn't breathe. It ruined our vacation. We had paid half in advance, but Senhora Melissa gave us a terrible reception. To make more money, she put up some prefabricated concrete walls and improvised extra rooms to fit more people. The beds were awful, with ugly, uncomfortable mattresses, and the furniture was very old. The room TV made a horrible noise and only two channels worked. It was an old tube TV. Several guests arrived at night and we had to welcome them ourselves. I've never had such a bad stay in my life. Melissa, you should be ashamed and think about your attitude, hospitality, and lack of commitment. This is your place, so take care of it. Use the money you've made to improve the building, and do it when guests aren't staying there. It's awful to read so many complaints about your business. Do something, dear. Recife is a tourist city, and your pousada doesn't live up to it. It looks more like a tenement. I hated it. Zero stars! Shirley, congratulations! You're a 10!

I stayed for one day and liked it. It's a good budget option if you're looking for somewhere cheap near the airport, casv, and the American consulate. There are bakeries, a bus stop, and supermarkets nearby. The service was excellent, and the individual rooms have a minibar. A few things to know: the place isn't marked with a sign, so use house number 601 to find it. The shower is cold, so don't expect hot water, and the bathrooms are shared, which isn't great. The mattresses are very thin, and the kitchen is a bit old and could use more things to make guests' lives easier. After 6 p.m. there's nobody at reception, so if you've booked and arrive after that, you pay a fee. Other than that, all good.

The bathrooms are shared and were all wet; the sink didn’t even have a faucet, just a pipe that sprays water. There was no sign outside to show that this was an inn, either. I also had to pay a guy an extra 30 reais to bring me the room key, since nobody was there to receive me or take care of things when I left. The employee was great, but Melissa, the owner, stayed at a distance and seemed focused on taking the money while making everything difficult. Don’t pay in advance. If you don’t like the place, you aren’t required to stay, but she won’t give your money back. The employee leaves at 6 p.m., and after that the place is deserted. During my night there, guests had a party with noise and music until 4 a.m. Then, at 6 a.m., more than six guys were arguing about a game beside my room as if they were in their own living room. Check the photos and see the mess.
