The location was decent, but I can’t think of anything else positive. The Wi-Fi was so weak we couldn’t use our phones or watch anything on streaming services. The room was very old, and the first time I turned on the faucet, the handle came off in my hand. Breakfast was disappointing, with hardly any fruit or fresh bread, though the flies seemed to like it. On our last night, a man spent about an hour yelling in the hallway and banging on the door next to ours. It was impossible to sleep.

The location was good, especially for Carnival, and our room was clean, though old and dated. But we booked mainly for the gym, and none of the equipment worked, so that felt falsely advertised. The breakfast didn’t look like the pictures either. It was an ordinary buffet with no lids, and most of the hot food was cold. There was no drinking water available unless you paid for it, and Expedia also advertised a sauna and bar that weren’t there.

The large rooms are very private, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was quite good, too. This is a business hotel that’s a little tired, but the location is excellent. Cross the bridge and you’re on the island where Recife began, so it’s easy to explore the historic area and return to a very safe hotel. I stayed in April 2018. Most tourists stay several kilometers farther south along the beach, but this spot suits someone interested in history.

The restaurant has no air conditioning, and the building is old. My room was terrible, with a lousy bed and no noise insulation. Avoid it.
