Trip Inn Recife

Great.

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it turned into the worst experience of my life. We had confirmed our stay more than a week ahead, yet after arriving we waited over 40 minutes for our rooftop room, number 6, to be ready. Then we found there was no water in the toilet or shower. Six more hours passed without a fix, so we had to use another room's bathroom. The next day they said the water pump was being repaired. Since the other rooms were rented out, we had nowhere else to shower and lost our day's plans waiting for them to sort it out. Eduardo, who was identified as a partner at the property, was rude and blunt. He said the problem would not be fixed until the plumber came on Monday, two days later, and offered only a refund for the night so we could move hotels. I called the owner too, and she was arrogant and unsympathetic. She said they were doing all they could, then made a sarcastic remark about being abroad in another time zone and said everything possible was already being done. It was awful. I can't recommend Trip Inn Recife. When we arrived, there wasn't even a room for us, despite our having told them a week earlier when we would get there. They put us in what they called a suite, then contacted us while we were out and told us to move to another room without warning. They also charged extra to set up something we had never asked for, which was their mistake, not ours. The place was in terrible shape: exposed electrical outlets, rusty mirrors and taps, a tiny shower stall barely big enough for one person, and a showerhead that was loose and falling. Glass doors had no handles or locks. There was no minibar, no bidet showers, no breakfast as advertised online, and no bins in the rooms. The sheets were torn, towels dirty, pillows uncomfortable, the air conditioning didn't cool, and furniture was dusty. The reception felt deserted. I travel often and have never had this kind of hassle. A dreadful guesthouse, absolutely not recommended.

We were looking for a clean, comfortable place near the airport where someone could let us in late at night, and Trip Inn Recife suited that need well. It also had private parking, and the price was great. The airport is about eight minutes away, which worked perfectly since we arrived very late and had a flight the next day. The receptionist was friendly and attentive from my first phone call to the check-in around 12:10 a.m. For anyone travelling for work or using the airport, this was a handy place to sleep for a night. I've saved their number for another time we need somewhere in Recife before an early flight or after a late arrival.
