We were eating at the restaurant on the right when a tall, dark-skinned young man, around 25 to 30, approached us and offered cocaine. We wanted nothing to do with it. He got angry and threatened us with other men. They photographed us and said we had to pay $300 or they would tell the police we had bought drugs. The restaurant employee added the charge to our bill. We felt intimidated, paid, and left. We wanted no trouble, but the whole vacation was ruined. We stopped feeling safe in the country and booked new plane tickets to leave. It was our first and last time in Brazil. Stay away from Poste 5. The restaurant is full of criminals. The man was over 1.90 m tall and pretended to sell cigarettes, but had cocaine hidden in a container. He was working with two other men. We’ll never return to Rio de Janeiro and strongly advise others not to go. I hope the police read this and take action.
