Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana

Davi was a great help with all kinds of requests, from planning day trips and getting around the city to finding restaurants and arranging a late checkout. My family and I had a wonderful five-night stay at the B&B Hotels. It's within walking distance of both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, a perfect spot for enjoying both sides of the beach. I highly recommend this hotel to families.

Breakfast was the one bright spot, with a nice variety of food and everything well stocked. The pool is small but refreshing, and the elevators were okay when they worked, though they were out of service at times. There were too many issues to list. The AC in our first room didn't work, our daughters' room had a toilet that wouldn't flush, and our room faced the street and was very noisy. We didn't get comforters until the third night. There is no gym, and the bathrooms are so small only one person can fit at a time. This place feels more like a hostel than a hotel. Registration staff weren't in a hurry to help with needs, check-in was slow, and room problems might not get resolved.

Natalia & Tiago were so helpful when we missed our flight and needed to rebook. They found us another room, and we really appreciated how kind and informative the staff were. The place is lovely, just a short five-minute walk from both Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. I'd happily stay again.

The rooms are spacious and being updated to a fresh, modern standard, and the location is good. Unfortunately, the work going on during our stay made a lot of noise and mess in the daytime, and the breakfast room was closed for refurbishment. Breakfast was moved to a crowded, uncomfortable event room with few options and no coffee machine. Getting there meant walking through unsafe construction areas. The lifts were mostly out of service, leaving just one and long waits. The laundry room was unavailable. Our tiny balcony was covered in construction netting, had a large air-conditioning unit, and no chairs or table, so we couldn't use it. Water pressure and temperature kept changing, sometimes there was no water at all, and the shower didn't drain and smelled. The door locks seemed to fail often. When maintenance forced our door open, it caused a lot of damage and left a mess in the room and on our belongings, which wasn't fixed. Staff offered little support with these problems, no alternative room or solutions, and wanted to charge us for checking in just 30 minutes early. Communication was poor too. My booking company has tried to reach them without success, and I contacted them myself and got no reply. It's a shame, because this could be a lovely hotel once the work is done and the issues are sorted. The stay would have been easier if they had made guests more comfortable and staff had been more willing to help.
